Ready to take your business to the next level? Sharpen your entrepreneurial skills while learning how to prepare to access capital.
This free program (4 weeks/8 sessions) is jam-packed with the information you need to build a solid foundation for your business and covers topics that are essential to its success! All participating businesses will take part in a pre-assessment, 24 hours of technical assistance, pitch presentation, and post assessment. All businesses that successfully complete the program will also be eligible to receive an implementation grant courtesy of the Homestead CRA.

Coding 101: Create a Video Game
Learn how to create a video game using block coding with Microsoft MakeCode. Registration is required. There are 119 seats available. Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 5:30PM – 7:30PM.

Escape Room - The Haunted Theatre
Immerse yourself in the haunted escape room at the historic Seminole Theatre. Your experience will begin with a cocktail hour where the game master will prep you for your Journey. If you dare to move forward you and your friends will step into the mystery of the beloved actress Betty Bop.
What is the mystery?
Ladies and gentleman, welcome to the downtown’s historic Seminole Theatre! Here you will find a star commemorating the theatre’s beloved actress, Betty Bop, who mysteriously disappeared at the height of her career in 1921. Coincidentally or not, her understudy, Mala Melila, met her untimely death just one night later. Follow the clues and solve the mystery, just be sure not to stop at Betty’s old dressing room. After Betty’s death, strange things began to happen there, and several aspiring actors have gone missing without a trace! Can you uncover the mystery and reverse the curse, or will this be the last tour of your lives?

Paint & Pour, presented by Homestead CRA
Paint & Pour is all about connecting with friends over a glass of wine, hors d’oeuvres and a night of laughs. Haven’t painted since preschool? No worries! Creative or artistic skills are not needed. The instructor will take you on a step-by-step journey to creating your very own piece of art.
Tickets are $25 and include a canvas, paint, two-hours of entertaining instruction, hors d’oeuvres, a glass of wine, and a fun-filled evening! The bar will be open for attendees to purchase drinks. No outside food or beverages allowed.

Marvel vs. DC Bar Crawl

A battle for the ages descends on Downtown Homestead on July 30th. Two universes collide like two cocktail glasses in a dark bar. But they aren’t cheering for good health and good fortune but to which side will retain supremacy after all.
Justice League versus The Avengers, Marvel versus DC. Settle the score for good at Seminole Theatre for a pub crawl of epic proportions. Come as you are or represent your favorite superhero or superheroine, for a scavenger hunt through Homestead’s historic dive bars. There will be $3 and $5 drink specials at each stop along the way. Starting at Seminole Theatre Pub, and crawling to the American Legion, City Hall Bistro Martini Bar, Simmons, and Chefs on the Run for some grub.
The fun doesn’t end there; the superhero group will end at the Seminole Theatre terrace for a costume contest, prizes, and karaoke. Bring a friend, meet new people, and discover some of the local hidden and historical gems of Homestead. The journey will determine which universe holds the greatest hope for humanity.

Cybrarium Grand Opening

Virtual reality, 3D printing, children’s theater, and a brand new collection of library books – these are just some of the exciting offerings at the world’s first Cybrarium. A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Cybrarium will take place on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 12 pm via Facebook Live at www.facebook.com/cityofhomestead, culminating with the reading of a first-edition children’s book inspired by the Cybrarium. The Cybrarium doors will officially open to the public at 2:00 pm, when the public can come to enjoy all its features. Please note, due to COVID-19, masks and social distancing will be enforced, as well as strict interior capacity limits once the Cybrarium doors open.
Losner Park Groundbreaking

The City of Homestead will break ground on a new park expansion that will transform a quaint pocket park in the heart of Downtown Homestead into an attraction that will draw residents and visitors to relax, celebrate, and gather in the city’s historic core. The Losner Park Groundbreaking & Veterans Memorial Ceremony will take place Thursday, December 3, 2020 at 10am and can be viewed via Facebook Live at www.facebook.com/cityofhomestead. Due to COVID-19, virtual attendance is highly encouraged, and any in-person guests must maintain strict safety protocols including social distancing and face masks.
